Blackout (another one)...and Billie Holiday

Mama OD-ed on the toddler songs I ask (demand) to listen to incessantly...so she staged a coup d'ipod...she put on Bille Holiday instead and under the flickering flame she listened...w i s t f u l l y

I am an official whiner....whiiiiinnnneeerrr....iiii whiinnneee aaaabboouuutt eeevvveeerryyy thhiiinnngg...i nooo loonger saaaay mommy (mommeen)...iii haaavve tooo saaayyy moooooooommmmmyyyyyyyyyyy
Here is a view of praia kebra kanela (ankle breaker beach...because it used to be a challenge to get down to it). Vovo's favorite beach...he goes there almost daily and sometimes takes his espingarda and catches a flounder for me to eat.

Vovo (gramps) babysat me and mama and vóvó went to a great piano performance at the Portuguese Cultural Center...mama came home (still high from her ipod coup) and blasted bloc party into her ears...but this morning...I got my eensy weensy spider songs again!

I am OUT OF CONTROL....Mama has a HEADACHE!!

I was so out of control today that mama is almost losing her mind (Vovo also has a headache)...here it goes: Mama picked me up at daycare and I immediately demanded to be carried, I kicked and screamed when we got home and she tried to put me down. I refused to have my diaper changed, I demanded to see a show...when mama put it on I ran towards her and hit her because within 3 seconds I changed my mind and decided I no longer wanted to see it...and so from then on I started hitting mama continuously, I would run after her and hit her (first slapping anywhere my hands reached...then it evolved into punching)!! I looked at her with my signature mean face and screamed that she should go to time out...I screamed so loud that vovo and mama now have lingering headaches (boy am I powerful!)....when I attempted to hit vovo with a pen in her face...mama lost it!
I am now fast asleep and mama and vovo are recovering...mama is reading all kinds of articles about something called 'disciplining' but I think she is thinking about getting the belt out...

I got a STOMACH BUG : (

I got the bug...but it does not mean I can't look good...so I demanded to wear this dress to go see the doctor!

It has not been fun...I keep hearing mama telling me to not put my hands in my mouth (my favorite thing to do...suck my hands after I touch everything)
Yesterday after we came back from the doctor, I went with mama and vovo to the roof to play a little and since I am now an avid potty user it went along with me.

Bey's Birthday

We went to Bey's birthday party (Bey is mama's cousin). Mama did not give me cake but I snuck in quite a few handfulls of chips (Vovo saw but let me do it : )

Cabo GREEN...it really is green!

Today mama went to 'fora' (inland) and got to take photos of the very lush and green landscape. She says it looks amazing. She loves Santiago for it's dramatic landscape. It is usually barren and brown, now it is almost as green as Hawaii (ok maybe not as green). This only happens once a year when (if) it rains. She warns me that soon she will also be including some photos of the not so beautiful parts of CV...be prepared!

I did not go because I have officially entered the TERRIBLE TWOS phase and was completely out of control today. Mama and Vo'vo' have to chase me around the house to feed me, it takes me 2 hours to fall asleep for a nap, I hit and scratch mama in the face (or on whatever part of exposed skin I can reach) when she says no or does not let me do what I want, etc. She slipped out of the house while I slept. She also stopped in Sao Domingos to eat pastel di midju (made with corn/sweet potato and with tuna inside)...they don't make them the way they used to but it is still one of her favorite CV snacks.

I used the POTTY!

I am a big girl now! I used the potty 4 times today: 1.5 doodoos and 2.5 peepees (with a few expected accidents on the floor). Mama is sooooo proud and looking forward to not buying diapers!
